Jonathan Clark, M.D.
Dr. Jonathan Clark is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. He was born and raised in Tuxedo, New York, a small town in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. He attended Cornell University and graduated cum laude. He went on to medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he graduated first in his class with a 4.0 GPA and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Stony Brook School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedics in Stony Brook, New York, and was selected by the faculty as administrative chief resident during his final year. He then went on to complete a shoulder and elbow surgical fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
During his fellowship, Dr. Clark had the opportunity to work with world-renowned shoulder and elbow surgeons Drs. Mark Frankle and Mark Mighell. Dr. Frankle pioneered a reverse shoulder replacement design that has revolutionized the field of shoulder replacement surgery, and Dr. Mighell is a world expert in shoulder arthroscopy and the treatment of fractures involving the shoulder and elbow. Together, they are two of the highest-volume and best-known shoulder and elbow surgeons in the nation. Under their tutelage, Dr. Clark learned advanced techniques in the treatment of complex shoulder and elbow pathology.
Dr. Clark treats all shoulder and elbow problems, including replacement (both primary and revision), arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, and shoulder and elbow fractures. He is also well-versed in the care of throwing and overhead athletes. Dr. Clark has authored multiple book chapters on reverse shoulder replacement surgery. He has also published several peer-reviewed articles on shoulder and elbow surgery in orthopedic literature. Dr. Clark is an associate member of the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, an invite-only group comprised of the leading shoulder and elbow surgeons in the country.
Dr. Clark has settled in Bristol with his wife, Megan, and their son. He and his family enjoy spending time outdoors fly-fishing, kayaking, and hiking.
